Hospitable cleaning sync: where the gap is and how to fill it
Hospitable (formerly Smartbnb) automates almost everything an Airbnb host does — except the cleaning company's side of scheduling. Here's the gap and the free Jobber-side fix.
TL;DR: Hospitable is excellent host-side software — guest messaging, pricing, calendar consolidation, review automation. What it doesn't do is push turnover bookings into the cleaning company's scheduling tool. CleanSync handles that gap for cleaning companies on Jobber: free, Jobber-native, ~2 min per property to set up.
What Hospitable is great at
Hospitable (rebranded from Smartbnb in 2022) is one of the best-built host-side STR automation platforms. It handles:
- Automated guest messaging: pre-booking, check-in, check-out, post-stay review prompts — all on customizable templates.
- Unified calendar: Airbnb + Vrbo + Booking.com bookings consolidated into one view per property.
- Dynamic pricing: optional pricing automation based on demand, comparable listings, seasonality.
- Review automation: auto-leave reviews after stays, with conditional templates.
- Multi-platform listings: maintain listings across platforms with synchronized availability.
- Tasks: cleaning + maintenance task creation per booking, with notifications to assigned providers.
A host running 3+ properties on multiple platforms saves serious hours per month on Hospitable.
Where the cleaner-side gap is
Here's the workflow problem for a cleaning company serving a Hospitable-using host:
- Guest books a stay through Airbnb.
- Hospitable picks up the booking, syncs it across platforms, sends the guest a welcome message, schedules a check-in reminder, and creates a "cleaning task" in its Tasks module.
- Hospitable notifies the cleaner: "Turnover scheduled for Tuesday at noon, Lakeview Cabin."
- ... and that's where Hospitable's automation ends for the cleaner.
The cleaner now has to:
- Open Jobber (or whatever scheduling tool they use)
- Find the right client record
- Manually create a job for Tuesday
- Set the line items, address, assignee
- Dispatch the visit to the crew member
If a guest cancels, Hospitable can notify the cleaner — but the cleaner still has to manually close the Jobber job. If the guest reschedules, same manual update.
For a cleaning company serving 5+ Hospitable-using hosts, that re-entry workload adds up. The booking automation Hospitable provides ends at the cleaner's inbox; the cleaning company still does scheduling by hand.
Why Hospitable doesn't close this gap natively
Hospitable's Tasks feature is built around a model where the cleaner is either a contractor using Hospitable's task app or an outside service that gets notified by email/SMS. Hospitable doesn't push into third-party scheduling tools — there's no native Jobber integration, no Housecall Pro integration, no ServiceTitan integration.
This makes sense from Hospitable's product perspective. They're a host platform, not a cleaning company platform. But for cleaning companies that already run their business on Jobber, it means Hospitable solves the host's automation problem and leaves the cleaner's problem on the table.
How CleanSync fills it
CleanSync sits on the cleaning company's side. The integration doesn't care whether the host uses Hospitable, Hostfully, OwnerRez, or just Airbnb's native interface — it works off the iCal feed, which every host platform exposes.
The setup:
- Get the Airbnb (and/or Vrbo) iCal URL for each rental — from the host directly, or from the host's platform.
- In CleanSync, paste the URL, pick the host's Jobber client record, set the cleaning window.
- Every future booking on that property creates a Jobber job automatically.
The cleaner stops re-entering bookings entirely. Hospitable handles the host-facing automation; CleanSync handles the cleaner-facing automation. Each tool stays in its lane.
Setup guide. Cancellation + reschedule behavior.
Two side-by-side workflows
Hospitable host + Hospitable Tasks cleaner (current default):
Booking → Hospitable → Task notification to cleaner →
Cleaner manually creates Jobber job → Crew dispatched
Hospitable host + CleanSync cleaner:
Booking → iCal feed → CleanSync (on hourly sync) →
Jobber job created automatically → Crew dispatched
Same outcome on the host side (Hospitable still does all its guest-messaging + pricing magic). Different — and faster, and hands-off — on the cleaner side.
What if you're the host AND the cleaner?
If you own STR properties and run the cleaning yourself (or with a small team), Hospitable + CleanSync covers the full workflow:
- Hospitable handles the host work: guest messaging, pricing, listings, reviews.
- CleanSync handles the cleaning work: iCal → Jobber turnover scheduling, dispatch, invoicing.
Both run on autopilot. You touch one or the other only for exception cases (a guest needing a custom message, a cleaning crew running late).
What CleanSync doesn't try to do
To be clear about scope — CleanSync isn't a Hospitable replacement, even for the host side:
- No guest messaging. Hospitable's strongest feature; CleanSync doesn't touch it.
- No pricing automation. CleanSync doesn't know what to charge or recommend.
- No multi-platform listing management. That's the host's platform's job.
- No reviews / review automation. Different product layer.
CleanSync is the calendar-sync-into-Jobber layer. That's the entirety of what it does. If you need the host-side stack, Hospitable (or Hostfully, OwnerRez, etc.) is what sits there.

Frequently asked
- What does Hospitable do?
- Hospitable (formerly Smartbnb) is a vacation rental management platform for hosts — automated messaging with guests, calendar consolidation across Airbnb/Vrbo/Booking.com, pricing automation, review automation, and a task feature that can ping cleaners about turnovers. It's primarily a host-side tool.
- Does Hospitable replace a cleaning scheduling tool?
- Partially. Hospitable's Tasks feature can notify a cleaner about an upcoming turnover and let them mark it done. But it doesn't create a job in the cleaner's scheduling tool (Jobber, Housecall Pro, etc.) — the cleaner still has to manually transfer the info into whatever runs their team.
- What's the cleaner-side gap?
- Hospitable tells the cleaner 'there's a turnover Tuesday at noon at the Lakeview Cabin'. The cleaner now has to manually create a job in Jobber so their crew sees it on the right schedule, gets the right line items, gets dispatched to the right address. CleanSync closes that gap.
- Can Hospitable and CleanSync work together?
- Yes — they sit on opposite sides of the host/cleaner relationship. Hospitable runs on the host's side (guest messaging, pricing, calendar consolidation). CleanSync runs on the cleaner's side (booking-to-Jobber-job sync). The host can use Hospitable while the cleaner uses CleanSync; they don't conflict.
- What does CleanSync cost?
- CleanSync is free. A standard Jobber subscription is required (which the cleaning company presumably already has).
